学部概况

Overview

外语学部成立于2007年3月，现设有英语、日语、翻译、英语（专升本）四个本科专业及应用英语专科专业，在读学生1800余人。学部建有外国语言与文化体验中心，拥有多媒体讨论室、同声传译实训室、教育实训室、综合实训室40余间。师资力量雄厚，现有教师130余人，其中副教授以上35人、外籍教师4人。

TheFaculty of Foreign Languages, founded in March 2007, offers BA programs in English, Japanese and Translation and an associate degree program in Applied English. The number of current students is over 1,800. TheFaculty has a Foreign Language and Culture Experience Center and more than 40 learning labs including multimedia discussion roomsand training rooms for simultaneous interpreting, teaching practices and general purposes. Andit has a strong faculty ofover 130 teachers. Among them, there are 35 associate professors and 4foreign teachers.

外语专业的人才培养目标是：“培养就业能力强的应用型外语人才”。学部与阿里巴巴（中国）网络技术有限公司、传神语联网网络科技股份有限公司等16家企业建立实习就业基地，实现了实习、就业一体化。学部常年举办开设名师讲座、外语沙龙、学科竞赛、志愿服务等为内容的第二课堂活动。

The mission of the Faculty is “to nurture application-oriented foreign language talents with high employability”. In doing so, it has established 16 internship and employment bases in cooperation with enterprises such as Alibaba and Transn, achieving the integration of internships and employment. The Faculty also organizes extracurricular activities such as lectures by leading scholars, foreign language salons, disciplinary competitions and volunteer services.

2022年，英语专业连续第七年被艾瑞深中国校友会网《2022中国大学文学本科专业排名》评定为5星级专业，日语、翻译专业被评定为4星级专业，居省内民办院校前列。

For the seventh consecutive year, English is rated as a 5-star major in the2022 Ranking of Undergraduate Literature Majors in Chinese Universitiesby Airuishen Alumni Network (cuaa.net), with both Japanese and Translation rated as 4-star majors. This ranks among the best of all the private colleges in Hubei.
